Everyone wants to make more income…easily. Especially you weight loss hypnotherapists!
Am I right?
“Of course!” I hear you say and in this post I’m going to share the first step.
But first let me set the scene…
There are a lot of sayings out there that back up the idea that ‘big’ is not always ‘best’.
How many times have you heard someone say – ‘less is more’?
Or, ‘the best things come in small packages’?
Over the last few years, financial uncertainty seems to have changed the landscape of online purchasing. For example, businesses such as Amazon have now realized that in order to maintain a steady flow of revenue, they need to offer their customers various ways of making a saving. They now provide free postage if you sign up to their ‘Prime’ membership, and they’ve even thrown in a free video streaming service for customers on ‘Prime’, to sweeten the deal.
It’s not just Amazon that have realized the need to offer more value. If you hit a luxury shop these days for products such as perfume or chocolate for example, you’ll often find that they offer miniature versions of their full-priced product for people to try, before committing to making a more expensive – larger – purchase.
So, how can you, the weight loss hypnotherapist, use this knowledge to help your online business?
A perfume shop sells a lower-priced, smaller item, because they want their customers to try out a scent without a big financial outlay. The hope is, that when the customer tries the perfume and decides they like it, they will have been persuaded to go ahead and invest more cash in a larger version.
It’s the same with all your products.
If a visitor comes to your website and sees that you are offering a 6-month weight loss hypnosis course for $1,000, they are going to hesitate before making a purchase. In fact, very few, if any will make a purchase.
The visitor will want to know that their financial outlay will be a good investment.
They’ll need to see what others have said, whether it will be a good course, and also whether it will be worth the outlay. It’s pretty likely that they may simply leave your website and go on a ‘search’ to find an equivalent product, for less, elsewhere.
This is a sensible approach to purchasing, which all of your potential customers will use when they visit your online Hypnotherapy business.
Here’s The Good Bit…
The trick, then, of keeping these customers – and even persuading them to buy your 6-month weight loss hypnosis course for $1,000 is to use the notion of scale.
How scale helps to build your customer base and passive income
Scale is the art of placing a series of weight loss related products, of different prices on your website.
Most customers will then come along and see your largest product, and think – “no way! I’m not paying that much!” – because they don’t know you, don’t know the value your product could bring for them, and don’t feel comfortable making a large financial investment after a short introduction.
However, if you are offering a product which is less expensive it will achieve a number of things.
Firstly, you can offer your customer a chance to try your less expensive product out for a low price.
Secondly, it gives you the opportunity to persuade clients who may otherwise have gone elsewhere, to give your product a go.
Thirdly (and most importantly for long-term strategic passive income success), if they love your lesser-priced product, they will be primed to go ahead and make a larger purchase from you, at a later date.
It’s all about scale.
While your initial idea for your business will be to price your products as highly as possible to make the most money, this is not always the best approach.
Offer your potential customers the chance to try you out with an inexpensive product.
Then if your products are well developed and of a high standard, you’ll grow a loyal customer base who feel confident in returning and purchasing higher priced products.
Sometimes, it’s true – less is more.
And that’s how weight loss hypnotherapists can start to make passive income
